Thursday

This week I have been more seriously looking for jobs- therefore not very much new art. Yesterday I made 3 "canvases" so I will start painting them today. And I did finish my new peanut shirt. It is very cute, I kind of want to keep it for myself.
I made a twitter account- I am not sure that I understand it, but I think that is where I will post my weird ideas, and then I will focus mainly on art for this blog.

Silhouettes to the extreme!

Silhouettes to the extreme and a painting of robots!

Happy Easter! (yesterday)

Mike showed me how to use a lightbox to take pictures. Very fun. I took pictures of all my vases in my collection!

This was my Easter outfit. I was very excited to wear my new boots! They are pretty comfortable, I added gel insoles. Mike's mom bought me the polkadot sweater and tshirt, she bought him a stripey shirt for Easter, but he won't let me post pictures of him to wardrobe_remix.

I don't think I will be able to wear the boots much longer, it is spring! It is supposed to be in the 50s later this week, I am happy. I am so bored of cold weather, yesterday it was snowing. blah.

I am working on a new painting today, I am almost done, and I started a new embroidered peanut shirt. It is bright emerald green with black peanuts, very cute. I will post pictures of them tomorrow!

Happy Good Friday!

I finished this painting this morning. I like it, I LOVE metallic paint. It is more elegant than my other paintings. I am turning over a whole new leaf. I am also working on another painting featuring a staircase and a fancy diamond chandelier.

House Tour: Mom's house

Here is a shelf on one of my mom's bookcases. Those weird ceramic things are things I made in college that my mom is begrudgingly displaying in her house. Just kidding. (Mom, you can throw them away or put them in the attic if you want)

This is my favorite lamp in my mom's house! I am not really a dolphin fan except for the football team, go dophins eeek eeek ekk!, but I think this is the cutest thing!

Jump rope painting

I finished this painting today and listed it to etsy.

I took a bunch of pictures at my mom's house to do a "Mom's house mini House Tour"! The Blue Ridge mountains picture is one that I took when walked through her backyard. Virginia is pretty.

Blue Ridge Mountains

Yes- they are really blue! Bizarre!

Bye bye, circus peanut chair painting

I am shipping this painting off to DC. It is going to be in an art auction to support a clinic run by George Washington Med Students. Mike and I have a friend that is a med student there and he asked me to donate something. Anyway, the auction is April and I hope they raise a ton of money for the GW HEALing Clinic.

Living Room and Kitchen

I just posted these paintings to etsy. I like them together- because of their artwork connection! The painting over the couch is a painting of the kitchen. I think that I am hilarious.

FYI:
Do not buy Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr Pepper. I don't know what my problem is, I always want to try out all the new weirdo sodas and then I am usually disappointed. I seriously almost threw up when I tried this soda! Blah, so now I have a 2 liter in my fridge of it!
Another difference from IN and VA- squirrels in VA are gray, and squirrels in IN are reddish.

Back from VA!

Spring break is over and Mike and I are back in Indiana. Where it is cold and drizzly and not spring-like at all! Anyway, our week in Virginia was really nice. It is very nice that both of our families live there, so we could see everyone. My mom and I had a day of thrift store shopping and it was so fun! I bought this stuff...

An awesome green skirt/skort weird thing
Brown Chinese Laundry flats
Ivory purse
2 applique/embroidered t shirt
3 white vases to add to my collection
and.. my most exciting purchase tall vintage boots for $3!! I have been looking for tall boots for awhile and these boots are very good!

VA highlights:
-out to dinner with my friends
-seeing Amy's play!! Amy is a superstar!
-watching The Wire with Ben, dad, and Ginny
-Karaoke!! Many, many redneck couples danced to Mike's version of "In The Air Tonight"
-shopping
-eating very good food and sleeping late

House Tour- part 12

Office:

This is the top shelf of our office bookcase. All the other shelves are filled with Mike's books. This shelf contains a few tweeks, a framed print from my friend Caitlin, and my old books that I am saving for collages and art things.

Bedroom:

In college I started collecting pink elephant things. I have 4 little trays, one glass, 5 shot glasses. I use the trays a lot.

The IN crowders are so nice! Kim, esty seller ThePeachMartini made a treasury of other Indiana etsy artists and included "Flight of the Peanut"!

Thanks Kim!

We are going to leave tomorrow morning. We'll be in VA for a week, so I won't be posting any paintings to etsy this week, but I have saved up some of my "house tour" pictures so I can update my blog while I am away.

Happy Holidays!!

Swedish Horse obsession?

I finished this painting today. I am branching away from peanuts! But now I have a slight obsession with Swedish Horses. I put one on my Christmas list- yes, I am keeping my list updated this year!
I like this painting, it makes me want to paint red stripes on my walls, but then I might feel like I was living in a circus, but that would be ok. I would also really like that rug. We still don't have a "real" rug for our living room. Mike's parents graciously gave us one they had, but it is too small for our space.
ps. the Swedish Horse is on the side of the painting- not visible in this picture.

Treasury!

Etsy seller and incrowd member, happylake, made a treasury of orbs from incrowd artists, and including my mini peanut chair set! Nice.

I am working on a new painting, green wing chairs with where's waldo inspired wallpaper! I am excited about it.
What I am not excited about is this crappy snow. I do like winter, but only a little. I like one nice snow a year, and then for it to melt and then have daffodils and have jeans and flip flop weather. But it has been snowing several times a week!! And mainly like 1-2 inches and then it's just icy and ugly. Bummer.

House tour- part 8

Bedroom:

My mom wood-burned this tray for me when she was in her woodburning phase. I pile all my makeup stuff in it. The perfume is Princess by Vera Wang. Mike's mom gave it to me for Christmas 2 years ago. It smells great, and bonus- the top comes off and its a little golden ring with pink diamonds that you can wear!

House tour- part 7

This is the second of our three plants. The tag says it is a bonsai, but that doesn't seem to be true. It is a cute little plant, and the rocks are all glued together! Weird.

Not Peanut Art!

I like painting because I can pretend I am an interior designer and make crazy rooms. I think if I had unlimited funds and didn't live in a rental house, I would have the craziest house ever. I would want everything bright colors and patterned. So, I think no one would ever hire me as their designer. I will stick with just painting and learning graphic design.

Last Octagonal painting

I posted my last octagonal painting to etsy yesterday! Now I am moving on to un-peanut related ventures. I am about done with a new painting that I will probably post to etsy tonight.
Emilia, the esty user Auburnandivory, has started a blog called Greenies 2008- featuring eco-friendly artists! Today is day 3 of the artists features and it is very cool! Check it out! http://www.greenies08.blogspot.com/

House tour- part 6

Living Room:

This is my small collection of white thrift store vases, I think they are so cute. I made this ceramic robot in college. The heart frame is from 10,000 villages and was a gift from Mike's sister. The picture of us is from our first trip to another state! We went to Baltimore to check out the aquarium and Visionary Arts museum during my freshman year of college.

House Tour- part 5

Living room:

In honor of the Easter season, I am showcasing my bunny candleholder that was an Easter gift a few years ago from my mom. I keep it out all year round because bunnies are good for every season!
We have 3 plants in our house, this weeping fig is one of them. Mike takes care of them and we have had them since we moved in, in July! Also that little weird silver thing is a sculpture I made out of staples.

Thanks to ni Lochlainn

An InCrowd member (etsy Indiana team) featured me on her blog! Now, I am famous. Check out her blog

House Tour- Brother edition

My brother sent me this:

Ben- "I have a squishy thing on my doorknob too! it is also a spikey thing but all my spikes are droopy. I didn't know what to do with it a long time ago so i put it on my doorknob and it has been there ever since."

House Tour: part 4

Bedroom:
This is the door to our bedroom. This weird thing on the doorknob is a Christmas gift I received a few years ago, I cannot bear to throw it away, but I don't know what to do with it! It is squishy and reversible, and the spiky side is much more fun than the smooth side.
ps- it is not supposed to be a doorknob decoration, I think it is supposed to be a ball to throw around and squish.

3rd Golden Peanut chair painting

I posted this painting on etsy this morning. It is my 3rd octagonal golden peanut chair painting- 3 of 4, so tomorrow I will post my last one. I think this is my favorite one of the 4, I like pink and green together.
Weekend recap:
Saw Be Kind Rewind- very cute! It was really funny and well done.
We also netflixed Waitress and watched that last night, that was also cute, I liked it a lot and it made me want to bake and eat pies.
