Dressing Up

I picked up this book a few weeks ago at Goodwill. Destiny! It was written in 1984, and I will admit, some of the advice is a bit outdated. But, she says, "There are lots of things in this world that one has to be serious about. I don't think dressing up is one of them.  Dressing up is about fun and flirt and glamour- and being a little creative with yourself." -how true!!

I am interested in trying out that bottom left hairdo!

This outfit isn't that impressive, but that chair!! Awesome.

Unfortunately, there are not many color photos, but there are a few fun nuggets of wisdom.

"Dressing up is making the effort and creating whatever illusion you fancy. It's a time to express your moods and whims-it's your chance to make a personal statement. Think of it as a silent way to proclaim, "Here I am!" And dressing up should be fun-otherwise, what's the point?"

Bowtie Junior

I think one of my New Year's resolutions will be to work bowties into my wardrobe. This sweater is a step in the right direction.

Halloween!

We had a very low key Halloween this year. I dressed up like a majorette.  I found the costume in a VA Goodwill and it was too good to pass up!

Mike played a flight simulator game...

But we did carve pumpkins!

Mike made the Reebok Pump-kin. It got a lot of comments from our 50 trick-or-treaters!
We were way more into Halloween last year, but I already have some ideas for next year!

Christmas wish list

This car! I really love all the mirco cars, but this one is so adorable. I would look awesome in it. However, Mike would probably not fit.

Danger!

I found this amazing book at Backstreet Misson Thrift shop. It has a lot of good information for preventing injuries and promoting safety. Like..
Kids shouldn't shave their legs.
Kids should be trusted with jigsaws.
wait... they should wear goggles while operating jigsaws.
