Bowtie Junior

I think one of my New Year's resolutions will be to work bowties into my wardrobe. This sweater is a step in the right direction.

This is what I wore to work today.



This was my sneaky surprise under my boots. I couldn't find a matchy pair and these socks feel the same, so on they went.

July already!

This has been a semi-busy summer so far. Mainly busy because I got a job! I design the interior of books. I've only been working about a month but so far it's been pretty fun. But, since it's an 8-5, I haven't been working on art very much. Although I do have to admit to doodling at work. I have decorated my cubicle a tiny bit. I have my "Baby Sasha" pillow monster and 2 family photos!

I have been liking work also because I have been enjoying dressing up! It is a pretty casual office and technically we are only supposed to wear jeans on Fridays, but I have noticed a ton of people wearing jeans during the week. I have made a deal with myself that I will only wear jeans on Fridays and so far I have been good, although in the winter I can see myself wearing jeans more. In the summer I have been loving skirts and dresses, fun and easy to wear! I have had Mike take a picture of me when I come home so I can post it to wardrobe_remix. I am also keeping up with a pact I made that I will only buy from thrift stores, so far I haven't gotten anything new since December, except a black pair of malindi crocs I bought myself for my birthday. I am not sure how long this pact will go, maybe indefinitely except for very special things. I have been wanting a pair of black boots since last winter, so I might buy those new. Not buying things new has really changed my perspective on new clothes, and buying things in general.

In other news, Tuesday is me and Mike's 2 year anniversary. I think we are going to get fondue for a fancy dinner. I am going to wear my "anniversary dress"- a super colorful dress I found at a thrift store and have been saving for this very special occasion. Also, the traditional 2 year gift is cotton, so I am very anxious to exchange gifts!

Bloomington is so fun in the summer. We've been walking downtown a lot for dinner and walking to the cute little grocery store by our house. Next month we'll be going to the Greenbriar in WVA for a vacation with Mike's parents and sister and brother in law. I am very much looking forward to it! I saw that the Greenbriar recommends "resort casual" clothing, I don't really know what that means, I take it to mean skorts and floral and since I have both of those things, I am ready!

Mike showed me how to use a lightbox to take pictures. Very fun. I took pictures of all my vases in my collection!




This was my Easter outfit. I was very excited to wear my new boots! They are pretty comfortable, I added gel insoles. Mike's mom bought me the polkadot sweater and tshirt, she bought him a stripey shirt for Easter, but he won't let me post pictures of him to wardrobe_remix.

I don't think I will be able to wear the boots much longer, it is spring! It is supposed to be in the 50s later this week, I am happy. I am so bored of cold weather, yesterday it was snowing. blah.

I am working on a new painting today, I am almost done, and I started a new embroidered peanut shirt. It is bright emerald green with black peanuts, very cute. I will post pictures of them tomorrow!

Rugged Warehouse

Holy crap. Who knew I have so many clothes from Rugged Warehouse? These pants and these shoes. But Rugged Warehouse does have amazing deals. That is another difference from VA and IN, no Ruggeds in IN.  Bummer. Last year I went a lot to the one in Winston-Salem and found some great deals- including sweet white, semi sparkely diesel shoes! (not pictured) I think in all of my wardrobe_remix posts, there has been something from Rugged Warehouse.

Acid Wash

Woo hoo acid wash. I do love this jacket.

I am waiting to go to my class, however I think it might be cancelled- it is totally gross out with a wintry mix supposed to be happening all night. But, so far, it's not cancelled.

I also love these snow boots. Last year before Christmas I spotted them online and added them to my Christmas list, but they were pretty pricey. But... I went to the TJ Maxx and Potomac Mills and found this one pair in my size for super cheap. It was a Christmas miracle.

Feb 12

Here is a peanut shaped bedroom painting I have been working on today...



It's not quite done, I still have a little work to do with the bee bedspread. I have also done a little art related PR work, muahaha. I like the idea of painting and selling paintings for money, but the idea of marketing myself and contacting people to buy things makes me feel nervous, blah. Anyway, now I am getting ready to go downtown to volunteer at the arts center. It is totally gross outside, icy and a tiny bit snowy. This is what I am wearing...



I love these boots but don't have that many opportunities to wear them, so today is the day.

I think I'm going to bring my computer so I can work on my InDesign homework. Last week I didn't even bring a book and the 2 hours dragged on foooooreeeevvvvveerrrrrrr.

This is what I am wearing today..


I bought this sweet acid wash jacket when I was visiting my fam in VA. My friends said I wouldnt wear acidwash, but yes I am! It reminds me of 1st grade, so that is nice. I took this picture of myself using the remote. The remote is pretty fun to use but I had a hard time fitting in my body, although I started off using the wide angle lens but then that fit in too much and the living room is getting pretty cluttered with all my art junk.

This morning I worked on 2 paintings, but neither one is quite done. I will finish them tonight!

Today I finished up my new years resolutions by posting to wardrobe remix. I bought that skirt and sweater yesterday! I also bought another skirt and a pair of trouser jeans that have diamonds! I am a sucker for all things sparkly.
