Christmas!!!
I am getting super excited about Christmas. I am more ready for Christmas this year than I ever have been before! My shopping is pretty much done, the house is decorated, I have finished the homemade gifts I want to give! Usually I am making things until the last minute. Here is a sneak peak of what I have been making...
Today I got a present from my work secret santa! A bottle of coke zero and a pack of creme de menthe altoids, the best altoids ever. So, Christmas is definitely here!
I am also soooooo close to finishing up my artomat paintings. Here are the latest completed paintings!
Only ten more to finish!

Yum and starting artomat art again!

I made this delicious cake last weekend. It is a recipe form design*sponge. It looks fancy and tastes very good, but the recipe is simple! My ideal recipe. I will be making this again and again with different fruit combos.

And I finished my first artomat piece! I started a few peanut rugs, pretty fun.

hip hip hooray!
I finished my third set of paintings for artomat! This set only took me forever!

I think I like the mermaids and octopi the best.

2 more

I finished these two minis the other day, a spider and a baby peanut chair sitting on a peanut chair!
I feel like I have been getting a cold this week, :( so I've been drinking a ton of water, and staying inside with sweatpants on and painting instead of going to a soccer game.

Robots!

I finished 4 more mini paintings for artomat. Robots are super fun to paint! I have 2 more finished, but I couldn't get a good picture of them. tear.
In other art news, I have been loving my ceramics class! It has been really fun, but I have yet to glaze anything, I don't know what to do! And I have been thinking of some new ideas for bigger paintings... involving multiple octopuses.. octopi?

more animals in peanut chairs

More artomat art! I am working faster than I thought I would... although I have barely left my house this weekend! I really like painting the silly cartoon animals (and cactus- my first non-animal).

Ta Da!
I started working on more artomat this week! As of this evening, I have three done!

....Only 47 more to go!! For this batch, I am using animals and other things sitting in chairs- mixing it up a bit. I also finished a knitting project I started a few weeks ago...

I feel like I am ready for fall now!

April
I cannot believe it is already April and it's almost May! I am so happy about it though, I love Spring! Yesterday Mike and I walked downtown for dinner and on the way back stopped for ice cream and it was so nice, I am totally looking forward to summer. I love sunny weather and going on walks. Unfortunately rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week- booo.
This has been a weird week of job searching and doing not fun things, resume writing, portfolio making, interviewing. Not much art making, although I still have my small stack of 3 nearly finished paintings, I have been feeling uninspired. I heard from artomat yesterday, I had emailed and checked in to see how my supply was going, they are almost out again, so that is exciting and even more exciting is where my art is! Some of my art is in the artomat machine at the Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis. I have never been to Minneapolis, but I think I would like it, and that hotel seems especially awesome. In traveling news, Mike is taking me for a trip for my Bday! My birthday isn't until June, but last week he ordered tickets to see a Chicago Fire v. DC United game in Chicago! I haven't been to Chicago- the whole midwest thing is still new to me and I am so excited. I think I will cheer for Chicago even though I lived semi-close to DC in college.

Even more artomat
I have finished more of my little paintings!

Mike took some artsy pictures of them after I stacked them on the table.

I only have 25 done, yikes! I have 25 more to do!
In other art news, I started working on another set of food-related interior paintings. So far I painted a kitchen with watermelon wallpaper and a living room with kiwi wallpaper.I have 10 of those paintings to do- I am painting them for a grocery/deli place. More pictures and info later!
